Annually Legacy Restoration and Volunteers of America Minnesota partner with JT’s Bikes for Kids to provide children the gift of self-reliance, physical well-being and the joy of calling something brand new ‘their own’ during the holiday season.
This year Legacy donated $8,500 to grant over 30 children their Christmas wish for a new bike! After a team breakfast at Key’s Cafe, our Minnesota Production Team could be spotted at Walmart in Forest Lake, MN, shopping for matching bike, helmet and lock sets to fulfill the exact color, type and size specifications of each child.
Giving back to the communities we serve is a strong guiding principle of who we are at Legacy Restoration, and the continued participation in these yearly give back events is invaluable for our company culture.
The total amount raised was $12,033 which allowed us to select 32 bike, helmet and lock sets to be purchased for these kiddos! The remaining donations will go toward other necessities for the children and their families.
“It’s a means for children to gain greater independence and self-reliance, foster a sense of inclusion and reach a higher level of physical and emotional well-being,” said Tim Taylor, cofounder of JT’s Bikes for Kids. Tim, his wife Trina, and their two adult children, Ana and Wyatt founded this campaign as a memorial to Tim’s father John Taylor (JT), who died in 2008 from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.
Giving these kids the freedom and mobility to enjoy the warmer seasons and the pleasure of having something to call their own is such a moving experience and something we are so proud to be a part of.
We look forward to the continued expansion of our charitable efforts within the communities we serve as well as increasing our give back initiatives with our national charitable partner, Volunteers of America, as Legacy grow.
